What is Pilates?
Pilates (Puh-la-teez) is a system of body/mind exercises created by German-born Joseph Pilates (1880-1967). Pilates is designed to strengthen the core, lengthen the spine, increase flexibility and body awareness, and to build muscle tone. It is a challenging, full-body exercise system.
